By burning a variety of fuels, GenOn is able to optimize generation to match market demand with the most appropriate, lowest cost fuel options.
The GenOn fleet includes a range of technology types, from conventional pulverized coal units to the latest circulating fluidized bed (CFB) coal technology used in its Seward Station in Pennsylvania, the largest waste coal station in the world. Gas technology ranges from combined-cycle units to combustion turbines and traditional steam units.
