Station Description
Located in the San Francisco Bay area, the Contra Costa Generating Station is a natural gas-fired facility with a capacity of 674 megawatts. Units 6 and 7 began service in 1964. More than $18 million has been invested at Contra Costa to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions including installation of low NOx burners, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) equipment and separated over-fire air equipment.
